LYNC: bio

Lync was an indie rock band from Olympia, Washington. Formed in 1992, the band was composed of vocalist/guitarist Sam Jayne, bassist/vocalist James Bertram and drummer Dave Schneider. Lync's distinctive sound of distortion, cryptic lyrics, and irregular tuning created a chaotic, visceral sound. The trio soon debuted on Magic Pail, with the single "Pigeons" [IPU041]; their next effort, "Two Feet in Front," appeared on K as part of the label's International Pop Underground series. K also issued Lync's first and last full-length, These Are Not Fall Colors[KLP030]; soon after the album's 1994 release, the band split. In 1996, Jayne resurfaced with the solo project Love as Laughter, debuting with the album The Greks Bring Gifts [KLP051]on K Records. The following year, #1 U.S.A. [KLP076] was released and credited to Jayne and his band members Dave Schneider (Lync) and Jessica Espeleta.
